A Vision

Saturday morning I woke up to the sight of two silhouettes standing in the doorway waiting to say goodbye to me. I will always remember the dark shape of a little boy clutching his stuffed kitty standing next to his daddy waiting excitedly to leave for a boys weekend. (Chris took Cody to Duck Camp on Saturday morning to help my Dad pack everything up and haul the RV back to Camden.) When I saw them I sat up and told them to come here. I hugged Cody close to me and told him to have fun and mind Daddy and Papaw. He said "I will Mommy." I kept hugging him and he let me for a while and then said "Mommy I have to go." I said I know and that I love him and will miss him. He said "I love you" and then he said "I'll be back." I was comforted by the caring words of my three year old. They left and I prayed for God to keep them safe and bring them home to me. They are home safe now. Cody kept looking at me and saying I'm so glad to see you and that he missed me.

Cody always says that if he ever leaves me that he'll be back. He said he will go away when he grows up to race Baha dessert trucks, but he'll be home in between races. He's too good to his Momma.

That is so sweet! It's good that he's getting one on one daddy time, no matter how hard it is for us mommies!
