Sarah had her first dance recital this month in the Nutcracker at the Hernando Performing Arts Center. She was a clown. They wouldn't allow us to take pictures of the kids in their costumes nor could we take pictures of the performance. Here she is at the rehearsal. She had pneumonia the poor thing, but she was so excited to be on stage.

This is the make-up we were instructed to put on them for the show. She enjoyed being made up with make-up and hairspray. They put other face paint on her at the show so she looked like a cute clown. Look at those red lips and the face she is making says "I'm the bomb." I love to see her so confident.
Sarah and her best bud from school and dance class.
I wish I had more pictures of her on stage. I bought the CD of the show, so hopefully I'll get to see her two minute dance, or jumping around on stage, again soon. When the big girls brought the little ones out they were all holding hands and running on stage. Sarah's face was one of terror and uncertainty, she looked scared standing there looking out at the crowd. I froze and muttered to myself, come on baby...dance. She looked around at the other girls and saw that they weren't frightened and she stared dancing. I wanted to cry for joy for her and stand up and whoop, but I didn't. I was beaming though.
After the show the girls were getting flowers and when I picked her up from back stage she said where are my flowers. Cody was waiting outside to give them to her. She was so impressed and happy that her big brother gave her roses and told her good job. I asked Sarah if she was scared when she first came out on stage and she said "yeah, a little, but I was brave." That's my girl, brave.

How adorable!!! You should have invited us so we could have come to the show. Would have loved to see pretty girl dancing around....and being brave, like her momma! Can she boogie like her momma?
